The rebate follows the equipment, not the invoice
LogisVert doesn't apply a flat percentage to your project. It pays a fixed rate per unit of heating capacity your heat pump can actually deliver at −8 °C — which is why two systems with the same advertised tonnage can be worth very different amounts.
Cold-climate ENERGY STAR® rate
$120 per 1,000 BTU/h at −8 °C
The other rates
$50 per 1,000 BTU/h — standard ENERGY STAR® models that aren't cold-climate classified. Same install, less than half the money. This is the single biggest reason to have the equipment chosen against the program rather than off a catalogue.
$220 per 1,000 BTU/h — available where a multi-unit building qualifies as energy insecure under the program.
Since 26 November 2025, every newly installed heat pump must be ENERGY STAR® certified to qualify at all. We check the AHRI number for your exact indoor/outdoor combination before quoting.
What the money actually looks like
Illustrative central cold-climate system, 30,000 BTU/h at −8 °C.
Example for illustration only. Your amount depends on the exact eligible model, its rated capacity at −8 °C, the system configuration and Hydro-Québec's approval. Taxes, electrical work and other site conditions can change the project price.
Who qualifies — and who doesn't
We'd rather tell you now than after a site visit. If any of the right-hand column applies to you, say so on the form and we'll be honest about it.
Likely qualifies
- You're a Hydro-Québec residential customer
- The home is an existing building in Quebec
- You own the property (or are acting for the owner)
- The new equipment is ENERGY STAR® certified
- Installation is by an RBQ-licensed contractor
- You apply within 9 months of the invoice date
Won't qualify
- New construction — LogisVert covers existing homes
- Homes outside Quebec, or without a Hydro-Québec account
- Equipment that isn't ENERGY STAR® certified (required since 26 Nov 2025)
- Roof insulation that doesn't reach RSI 8.8 (R-50), or insulation without the caulking work
- Work already invoiced more than 9 months ago
- DIY or unlicensed installation
From first call to Hydro-Québec's decision
You shouldn't have to reverse-engineer capacity tables and AHRI numbers on your own. Here's exactly who does what.
Tell us about the home
Fill in the form above or call an advisor. We collect the basics: property type, current heating, ownership and what you're considering.
Home assessment
A Superior representative looks at the existing system, the building envelope and your heating and cooling needs.
Where the project calls for it we calculate heat loss and size the equipment from that — not from square footage alone. Under-sizing costs you comfort; over-sizing costs you money and doesn't increase the rebate proportionally once you pass the cap.
We show you the numbers before you commit
We recommend a specific indoor/outdoor combination, verify its ENERGY STAR® listing and its rated capacity at −8 °C, and calculate the LogisVert amount that combination should generate. Before you decide, you'll have:
- The recommended equipment and its AHRI number
- The project price
- The estimated LogisVert reimbursement
- Financing options, if you want them
- Any additional electrical or structural work required
Professional installation — and you don't pay it all at once
Our RBQ-licensed team installs the system and captures everything the application needs at the same time — exact model and serial numbers, AHRI / ENERGY STAR® references, installation details and the outdoor unit nameplate photo.
Financing is available on the project, so the install doesn't have to wait for you to free up the full amount. Your advisor goes through the available plans and the exact terms with you before anything is signed.
We prepare the application package
The LogisVert application is filed by you, the homeowner, through Hydro-Québec's portal. We assemble the documentation and walk you through the submission so nothing comes back incomplete.
Hydro-Québec pays you
Hydro-Québec reviews the file, determines final eligibility and the amount payable, then pays you directly by cheque or transfer. Homeowners on a payment plan typically put that money straight onto their balance.
Processing generally runs 6 to 12 weeks for a clean file and can stretch longer in peak season. It depends entirely on Hydro-Québec and on whether the file is complete — which is why we're careful about step 5. We can't promise a date, and no contractor who tells you otherwise can either.
One licensed team for the whole project
Superior Plumbing & Heating has been serving Quebec homes from Montréal and Gatineau. We're RBQ-licensed, CMMTQ members, and we handle the upgrade end to end rather than dropping off a box.
Real assessment
We look at your actual building and existing setup before recommending anything.
Program-matched equipment
We verify ENERGY STAR® listing and capacity at −8 °C so the rebate is maximised, not guessed.
Licensed installation
RBQ 5876-1974-01, CMMTQ member, fully insured, installed to Quebec requirements.
Application support
We collect the serial numbers, AHRI references and photos the portal asks for.
Insulation partners
If the attic is the real problem, we'll say so and coordinate the work.
Financing
Options available so you're not carrying the full amount while the file is reviewed.
Roof insulation and caulking
A heat pump is only as good as the envelope around it. Heat escaping through an under-insulated attic raises the capacity you need, which raises what the system costs you to run.
LogisVert pays a fixed $1,500 for qualifying roof insulation combined with comprehensive caulking — and the insulation has to reach a minimum of RSI 8.8 (R-50). Homes already at that level won't qualify, and insulation without the caulking work won't either.
Combining measures in one application also unlocks the +5% multi-measure bonus on the total.
Considering a heat pump anyway? Ask your advisor whether the attic should be part of the assessment.
Add Insulation To My Quote →LogisVert insulation grant
$1,500 fixed amount — not a percentage
- Attic and roof insulation
- Air sealing and caulking
- Heat-loss problem areas
- +5% when combined with a heat pump
Don't wait until you've saved up $8,500
This is the part most rebate pages skip. LogisVert reimburses you after your application is approved — it does not reduce what you owe the contractor on installation day.
Financing is available on Superior projects, so you can get the system in before winter instead of waiting. When your rebate lands, most homeowners put it straight onto the balance.
Your advisor walks you through the exact plans, rates and terms available to you before you sign anything.
At your consultation we'll walk through:
- Total project cost
- Estimated LogisVert reimbursement
- Financing plans, rates and terms
- What your payment looks like before and after the rebate
Financing details
Representative example: on a credit contract of $[AMOUNT] at an annual credit rate of [X.XX]% over [N] months, the monthly payment is $[PAYMENT], total credit charges are $[CHARGES], and the total obligation is $[TOTAL]. [Membership / administration / origination fee of $[FEE], if any.] Financing provided by [LENDER NAME]. On approved credit. Rates and terms vary by applicant and are confirmed in your credit contract before signing.
Your payment obligation does not depend on the rebate. The balance is owed in full under the credit contract whether or not Hydro-Québec approves your LogisVert application, and regardless of when it pays.
What our customers say
Installed, documented and followed through — from the first visit to the rebate landing in your account.
We contacted Superior because we wanted to replace our old heating system and make sure we didn't lose the Hydro-Québec rebate. Their team recommended a cold-climate heat pump, confirmed the model was eligible and explained what documents we would need before the installation. After the work was completed, they helped us prepare the LogisVert application. A few weeks later, Hydro-Québec approved our file and we received the reimbursement. The whole process was much easier than we expected.
I was worried about paying for a new heat pump and then finding out afterward that the system didn't qualify for the rebate. Superior checked the equipment first, explained the estimated LogisVert amount and handled the installation professionally. They also made sure we had the model numbers, invoice and photos needed for the application. Our claim was approved and we received the Hydro-Québec payment afterward. It was a relief to have someone guide us through the process.
We got a few heat pump quotes, but Superior gave us the clearest explanation of both the installation price and the rebate. They installed the system, provided all the documentation for the LogisVert application and helped us make sure everything was submitted correctly. Hydro-Québec approved the application and the rebate was deposited afterward. There were no surprises with the project, and the new system has been working very well through the winter.

Quebec heat pump rebate questions
Are you Hydro-Québec?
No. Superior Plumbing & Heating is an independent, RBQ-licensed contractor (RBQ 5876-1974-01) and a member of CMMTQ. LogisVert is a Hydro-Québec program; we install eligible equipment and help you prepare the application.
Hydro-Québec does not do door-to-door or telephone solicitation for LogisVert, and it has no affiliation with itinerant merchants. If anyone tells you otherwise, that's a red flag — verify any contractor's RBQ licence directly with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
How much is the rebate for a heat pump?
It depends on the equipment. Eligible ENERGY STAR® cold-climate models are calculated at $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at −8 °C, up to a maximum of about $6,700. Standard ENERGY STAR® models that aren't cold-climate classified are calculated at $50 per 1,000 BTU/h.
In practice a wall-mounted mini-split typically lands in the several-hundred to roughly $2,900 range, while a central ducted cold-climate system can reach the cap.
Is every heat pump eligible?
No. Since 26 November 2025 every newly installed heat pump must be ENERGY STAR® certified to qualify at all, and the specific indoor/outdoor combination has to be verifiable by its AHRI number. That's why we check the exact combination before quoting rather than after installing.
Do I get a free heat pump?
No. LogisVert is financial assistance toward an eligible project — it does not make an installation free, and anyone telling you it does is misrepresenting the program.
You'll get a quote for equipment and installation alongside the estimated assistance for the system we recommend.
Do I pay first and get reimbursed later?
Yes. You pay the contractor for the project, then submit the application to Hydro-Québec, which reimburses you after approval. It is not a point-of-sale discount.
Your quote, payment terms and any financing are agreed with you before installation starts.
How long do I have to apply?
The application must reach Hydro-Québec within nine months of the invoice date for the work. We prepare the documentation as part of the installation so the file goes in well inside that window.
Who actually submits the application?
You do. The LogisVert application is filed by the participant — the property owner — through Hydro-Québec's online portal at logisvert.ca. Note that the portal operates in French.
Our team assembles the required project information and documentation and walks you through the submission.
What documents will I need?
Depending on the project, the application can require:
- Customer name and installation address
- Invoice number and date
- Installation date
- Contractor information and RBQ licence
- GST / QST registration numbers
- Heat pump make, model and serial number
- AHRI or ENERGY STAR® reference
- Description of the completed work and project cost
- Photo of the outdoor unit nameplate
We prepare this package for you, which is the main reason files come back approved rather than incomplete.
Is roof insulation also eligible?
Yes — a fixed $1,500 for qualifying roof insulation combined with comprehensive caulking, where the insulation reaches a minimum of RSI 8.8 (R-50). Insulation alone, or insulation that doesn't reach R-50, won't qualify.
Does new construction qualify?
No. LogisVert applies to existing residential buildings. A home still being built doesn't qualify under this program.
How long until I actually get the money?
For a complete file, processing generally runs 6 to 12 weeks from submission — roughly two months is typical — and it can stretch longer during busy periods. Hydro-Québec pays you directly by cheque or transfer.
That timing is entirely Hydro-Québec's and depends on whether the file is complete, so we don't promise a specific date. Any contractor who guarantees you a payment date is guessing.
How does the financing work?
Financing is available on Superior projects so you don't have to pay the full project amount up front. Your advisor reviews the plans, rates and terms available to you, and everything is set out in the credit contract before you sign.
One thing to be clear about: the financed balance is owed under that contract regardless of what happens with your LogisVert application. When the rebate arrives, most homeowners apply it straight to the balance — but the payment obligation doesn't depend on it.
Does my home have to be my principal residence?
LogisVert's published requirements centre on the property being an existing residential building served by Hydro-Québec, with the application filed by the participant. Rental and multi-unit properties have their own streams and, in some cases, higher rates.
Tell us the situation on the form and we'll check the current requirements against your specific case rather than guess.
Is the rebate guaranteed?
No, and no contractor can guarantee it. We can select equipment that meets the requirements, install it correctly and prepare the documentation properly — but final eligibility and payment are determined by Hydro-Québec under the program rules in effect for your project.
